ff. 1r-5r: an index of capitula.
ff. 5v-182v: Summa theologica, a brief summary of theological subjects in seven parts; the first part is on God and the Trinity; the second part is on the humanity of Christ; the third part is on the Sacrament; the fourth part is on the Virgin Mary; the fifth part is on the virtues, the eternal life and the joys of heaven; the sixth part is on the vices, Judgement Day, the Antichrist, the pains of purgatory and of hell; the seventh part is on diverse narratives useful to the health of the soul.
Decoration:
Initials in colours with foliate decoration including ivy leaves and flower buds extending to form a partial bar border (ff. 1r, 5v, 32v, 52r, 115v (no partial border)). Smaller initials in blue with pen-flourishing in red or red and blue including foliate decoration sometimes extending along the text (e.g. ff. 12v, 65v, 148v). Initial containing a face (f. 26r), an animal mask (f. 161v), a tonsured head (f. 164v), a fish (f. 170v), a flower bud (f. 175v). Paragraph marks in blue with red pen-flourishing. Line-fillers in red and blue. Capitals marked in yellow.

Foliation: ff. 186 (+ 2 unfoliated paper flyleaves and 4 unfoliated parchment leaves at the beginning + 2 unfoliated paper flyleaves at the end).
Script: Gothic.
Binding: Post-1600. Brown mottled calf with gold fillets; fore-edge decoration of 3 red cinquefoils.

Provenance:
Added inscription, 14th century (f. 186v).
Inscribed, early 16th century?, 'sunt mihi' (f. 100r), 'huius si tupias dominus cognoscere libri' (f. 112r), 'Sicu[...] hatfer' (f. 142v).
Richard Dauson, 16th century: inscribed 'Richardus Dauson hoc scripsit' (f. 2v), and in the same hand 'Inde toro pater Aeneas sic orsus ab alto' (f. 21v).
Walter Whaley, 17th century: inscribed with his name (f. 184v).
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d. 1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts form one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
