This heraldic manuscript mainly includes pedigrees and arms for the period 1565-1579, but includes additions, in the same hand as the rest of the manuscript, that are dated up to 1616 (f. 94v).
Contents:
ff. 3r-42v: The pedigrees of families in Devon from the Visitation of William Harvey, Clarenceux King of Arms, 1565.
ff. 43r-44v: An index of surnames of Devon families.
ff. 45r-73v: A collection of arms owned by 'Joseph Holland, 1579, 21 [? El.] R.'.
f. 74r: A genealogy of Grenvill and Whitley families.
ff. 75v-103r: Pedigrees and arms of Wiltshire families; with an index, 1565.
ff. 104r-119r: Pedigrees and arms of Dorset families, 1574.
ff. 120r-130v: Pedigrees and arms of Worcestershire families, 1569.
ff. 131r-142v: Pedigrees and arms of Somerset families, 1573.
The manuscript contains a few additions:
f. 1r: A list of names, beginning 'Sir George Mackenseys Heraldry & Preseedency'; probably Sir George Mackenzie of Rosehaugh (b. 1636/38, d. 1691); added in the 17th century.
f. 2r: A table of contents: 'E Z - Devonshier 1564 - Dorsettshier Somersettshier 1573 - Wiltshier 1565 - [Worcester]shier 1569'; added in the 17th century.

Joseph Holland (alias Holond), antiquary, owned ff. 45-142: his name written on f. 45r (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 192).
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d. 1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts form one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
