YEAR-BOOKS, Michaelmas, 1-Michaelmas, 15 Edw. II., but omitting two terms, Easter and Trinity, 14 Edw. II. In French. The reports given for 13 Edw. II. are marked as pleas at York (cf. Eg. MS. 2811, Harl. MS. 835). The MSS. being commonly made up of separate reports for single years or terms, there, is no constant relation between them, but the reports given here for the years 1, 4 (part), 5, 6 (part), 7 (Mich.), 9, 10, 11 (Trin.) are akin to the MS. (now Add. MS. 35094) from which Sir John Maynard printed (Les Reports es Cases, etc., 1678). In other years they are either independent or abridged from some of the other unprinted reports, such as those in Harl. MSS. 835, 3639. The year-books are preceded (ff. 2-21) by "Veteres narriciones" (later title, f. 1), see 37657. The names given refer commonly to Yorkshire and temp Edw. II. After this is a table (ff. 22-38b) to the Year -books following. At the end (f. 275 b) are some notes in a l5th cent. hand, including an assise of measures and sonic pleadings with the name Richard Clerke as attorney. Vellum; ff. i. + 276. 16 in. x 6 ½ in. Middle of the xiv. cent. Belonged (15th cent.) to Richard Clerk and George Serrye (ff. 1 b, 276), afterwards to George "Petrie" (sc. Petre, d. 1829, cf. 35116, 37659), and Sir Thomas Phillilpps (1829). Phillipps MS. 3123 (sale-cat. 1908, lot 255).
