D. Letters and papers addressed to Col. John Moore, al. More [Mayor of, and M.P. for Liverpool], and his son Edward, of Bank Hall [in Kirkdale, co. Lanc., afterwards lst Bart.], viz.:-
1. "Rules and orders for regulating Vice Admiralls," by [Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of] Warwick, Lord High Admiral, addressed to Col. John Moore, as vice-admiral for cos. Lane. and Westm.; Warwick House, 12 Apr. 1644. Signed. The paper seal is lost. f. 11. Followed (f. 13) by a modern engraving of Vaudyck's portrait of Warwick and of his seal and signature.
2. Order "by the Commissioners at Corke House," for Col. John Moore to take possession of lands, at Castletown Kildrought, Clane [co. Kildare] and elsewhere, of Sir John Dongan [al. Dungan, 2nd] Bart., in actual rebellion, for which he is to pay the composition; 22 Mar. 1647. Two copies, one with the names of the six commissioners. ff. 14, 16.
3. Letter of Mary [daughter of Calcott Chaimbre, wife of Edward Brabazon, styled Lord] Brabazon [afterwards 2nd Earl of Meath], to her "good cosen," Col. [John] Moore, to pass a cargo of herrings belonging to Sir Philip Perceval, which had been arrested in the Wyre upon suspicion as enemies' goods; - Dec. 1644. f. 17.
4. Eight letters of the same as Countess of Meath, to her cousin Edward Moore [son of Col. John], on family affairs; 10 Dec. 1655- 21 Dec. 1665. Two with seals. ff. 19-33.
