WINDHAM PAPERS. Vol. XCIII. (ff. 178). Miscellaneous Papers, viz.:-
1. Grant by Charles II. to Colonel Francis Wyndham [cr. Bart. 1673] and Thomas Wyndham [his son] of the forfeited life-interest of Nicholas Love, the regicide, in the manor of Crowndall [Crondall], co. Southt., property of the Dean and Chapter of Winchester; 26 Sept. 1660. Signed. Paper seal. f. 1.
2. Correspondence of Anne Barnes, of North Repps, co. Norfolk, circ. 1734-1741, relating chiefly to her love-affairs (cf. W. Coxe, Literary Life and Select Works of Benjamin Stillingfleet, 1811, i. pp. 65-72). Besides original letters of Miss Barnes, sometimes signed Celia, to Ashe Windham, Windham's grandfather, and a poem in her hand, there are copies of her letter to Stillingfleet (a grandson of the Bishop of Worcester and tutor to William Windham, father of the statesman) breaking off her engagement, and of Stillingfleet's reply, and extracts of other letters, one (1734) referring to Frank Wyndham, others to and from - Russel, whom she married in 1741. f. 2.

5. Notes, in W. Windham's hand, of a conversation with Dr. Samuel Johnson, 10 Dec. 1784, not recored, except for one remark, by Boswell. The first entry, rather obscurely written, seems to refer to baseless gossip about the death of Sir lsaac Newton. f. 37.
