" REGISTRUM quod a tegumento cæruleo vocatur Liber Cæruleus clarissimi ordinis militaris Garterii nomine appellati ": transcript of the Register of the Order of the Garter known as the Blue Book, " a large volume in folio bound in blue velvet " (see Beltz, Memorials, p. 408), and extending from 7 Sept., I Mary [1553], to 23 April, 19 Jas. I. [1621]. Latin. With marginal notes by John Anstis, the elder, Garter (d. 1745). At the end (f. 53) are a few extracts " out of the former ]Register," sc. the Black Book. Paper; ff. 54. XVIII. cent.; with a change of hand at f. 45. Original binding, dark brown calf, blind tooling. Bookplate of Sir George Nayler, Garter (sale-cat. 1832, lot 42).
