SUMMARY relation, in Latin, of the Civil War in England down to the latter part of 1655, preceded by a short explanation of its causes, beg " Ad liquidiorem earum rerum intelligentiam quæ in hac Narratione referentur, necessarium omnino videtur in temporis proxime præteriti spatium oculos aliquantisper reflectere," etc. The author shows rather a strong bias against Cromwell and concludes with the words, " Ac vniuersim de Protectors hoe dict posse videtur, fortunam eius in lubrico stare et, si quis impellat, facile ruituram." The MS. is apparently autpgraph, containing additions and corrections the majority of which are in the same Italian hand as the text; and the author was possibly Lorenzo Paulucci, Venetian Resident in England from 1652 to the end of 1655 (Barozzi and Berchet, Relazioni, Venezia, Ser. iv. vol. i., 1863, pp. 5, 362).
