LIST of ecclesiastical benefices in England and Wales, with their yearly values and patrons, and in most cases the names of the incumbents and date of their institution; originally drawn up in 1622, butt having changes noted down to 1648. The earliest date of an institution is 1558 (f. 251), and very few additions are later than 1638. The MS. was evidently intended for official use, probably iii connexion with the payment of first-fruits (see IT. 3, 4). The full contents are as follows:-
1. Names of archbishops and bishops in 1622, with changes to 1633. f. i.
2. Benefices in the gift of: (a) Charles, Prince of Wales, " with the values which are paid for their first-fruits." f. 5 ;-(b) the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. f. 27;-(c) the Bishop of London. f. 34;-(d) the Bishop of St. Davids. f. 40;-(e) the Bishop of Ely. f. 46;-(f) the Bishop of Lincoln. f. 53.
3. List of " Mannors belonging to Queene Marie, 1630." f. 58.
