Material: Parchment.
Foliation: ff iv + 318. ff i and iv are paste-downs on the upper and lower inner boards, respectively.
Dimensions: 275 x 215 mm.
Ruling: 195 x 150 mm, written in two columns, 18 lines per column.
Binding: Brown leather. On the front cover is an embossed silver and gold plate, depicting Christ enthroned between the Virgin and another, bearded, figure; symbols of the four Evangelists in the corners. An image of the fore-edge can be seen on Digitised Manuscripts as f v recto.
Decoration: Illuminations of the four Evangelists (St. Luke first) on ff 3r-4v, well preserved. That of St. Matthew is protected by an old piece of embroidered silk (see digital images f 3av, 3bv, 3cv) and a fragment is still attached to that of St. Luke. Headpieces in gold and colours.

Origin: Eastern Mediterranean, owned by and likely created at the Monastery of St Nicholas in Pentrochonte, north of Berat, Albania: ownership inscription (f 1r), see further Cataldi Palau (1997) [=2008].
Provenance:
Theodore Mouzachos (Lord of Berat between 1389 and 1412), received the manuscript for safe-keeping in 1399 from Daniel, the hieromonk at the Monastery of St Nicholas, along with a number of other manuscripts: inscription (f 1r).
Church of the Virgin of Blacherna, Berat, owned in November 1900: Alexoudes (1901), p. 72.
John Eleutheriou of Corfu, owned some time between 1900 and 1904: Gregory (1900-1909), p. 428.
