LETTERS of the Cotman family, artists, of the Norwich School; 1817-1864. Chiefly written by John Sell Cotman (d. 1842) and Miles Edmund Cotman, his eldest son (d. 1858), and addressed to Joseph John Cotman, the former's second son (d. 1878). The names of the writers will be found in the Index. Extracts from four of these letters (ff. 116 b, 121, 131, 236) were printed by J. Reeve in his memoir of J. S. Cotman prefixed to the Catalogue of the Ninth Exhibition (July, 1888) of the Norwich Art Circle (pp. 19, 22, 24). Paper; ff. ix. + 266. Bookplate of J. Reeve. Bound in green morocco, gilt-tooled.
