(1) Temporale, Advent-25th Sund. aft. the Octave of Pentecost. Included are:@a) An inserted leaf containing a Pica for the 3rd Sund. in Advent and the ferial days of the following week, written in a slightly later hand. ff. 20-20b;-(b) Office for St Thomas Becket, in rhyme, similar to that printed from University College, Oxford, MS. 101 (late 13th cent.) by Dreves, Analecta Hymnica, xiii, 1892, pp. 238-242. Other versions are in Add. (2) Blessing of Holy Water. ff. 265-266. Vellum; ff. XXXV+266 (the foliation remains that used by Schofield and Tolhurst, opp. citt., except that the former ff. 199-272 have been renumbered correctly as ff. 193-266). 252 mm. x 169 mm. Late XIII cent. Original gatherings mostly of 12 leaves (ii13, xxii [5, 10 cancelled]) preceded by three gatherings of added leaves (ff. i-xxi: a7 [4, 6 stubs], b8, C8) and followed by two others at the end (ff. xxii-xxxv: d8, e6). Catchwords and added [ 15th cent.?] signatures. Written in book hand in double columns Of 29 lines, with rubrics and red and blue pen-decorated initials. On f. 1 (reproduced in Friends ofthe National Libraries, Annual Report, 1932-1933, pl. i) is an initial and bar border with grotesques, in gold and colours. The added material (ff. i-xxxv, see further above) includes, in addition to transcripts of deeds, etc.:-
