REGISTER of correspondence between Sir Thomas Parry, Ambassador to France, and Sir Robert Cecil, Secretary of State; 11 Aug. 1602-Dec. 1603. The last dated letter is followed by another letter, which breaks off imperfectly at the bottom of the last page, and no doubt there were more, which are now missing. A similar letter-book at Magdalene College, Cambridge, is continued to Mar. 1603/4 (see extracts by T. Birch in Add. MS. 4160, f. 280). Besides letters of Parry and Cecil the volume also includes : (a) Queen Elizabeth to Parry; 29 Sept. 1602. f. 11 ; (b) The Privy Council and "divers of the nobilitie" to the same, after Elizabeth's death; 28 Aug. (sic, for Mar.), 1603. f. 27; (c) James I to Henry IV of France, announcing his accession and accrediting Parry; York, 15 Apr. 1603. Fr. f. 28; (d, e) The same to Parry; 25 Apr. 1603. f. 28b.
