Copy. lt is said (f. 1) to have been "Delivered by his Grace . .. in the House of Peeres, 30o November 1702" and "Read." Beginning with the departure of the Duke [James Butler, 2nd Duke of Ormonde] for Portsmouth, 1 June, to take command of the land forces to act in conjunction with Adm. Sir George Rooke, Commander-in-chief of the expedition, for the capture of Cadiz, the Journal relates the Duke's movements and orders, proceedings of Councils of War, etc., and gives copies of his correspondence with John Methuen, Envoy at Lisbon, and others, and especially with Adm.
