RECORD of the Acts of John Colton, Archbishop of Armagh, on his visitation of the see of Derry, over which he claimed jurisdiction during its vacancy on account of the translation of John Dongan to the see of Down, held 8-17 Oct. 1397. Written by direction of Richard Kenmore, clerk in the diocese of Meath, notary public, and attested by his notarial mark at the foot and at the joinings of the membranes. Attached is a rental of the estates of the see taken at the same time; and on the back of the main roll is a list of music belonging to a l5th cent. owner, chiefly in 4 or 5 parts, including "Nowellys," songs for the lute, etc., beginning with the words "Lapydes torrentes," "Sic eum volo," "0 admyrabile," "Reges Tharsys," "Gaude plurimum," "Potensiana," "Nunc dimittis," etc. The Acts and the Rental were published in 1850 for the Irish Archæological Society, "from the Original Roll preserved in the Archiepiscopal Record Closet of Armagh," with an introduction and notes. Vellum roll, four membranes sewn together, 6 ft. 21/2 in. x 1 ft.
