LIVERPOOL PAPERS. Vol. V (ff. 103). Letters from Henry John Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston, Secretary-at-War (1809- 1828), to the 2nd Earl of Liverpool; 1812-1825. There are also three letters at the beginning of the volume, dated 1810-1812 (including a draft, f. 1, and extracts of correspondence, f. 14), from Palmerston to Spencer Perceval, Prime Minister, concerning the former's dispute with the Commanders-in-Chief (Sir David Dundas, and afterwards the Duke of York) about the scope of their respective offices. In a letter of 1821 Palmerston declines an exchange of office that would have brought him a seat in the House of Lords (f. 83). Folio.
