PEARSALL COLLECTION. Vol. VII (ff. ii + 101). Arrangements and adaptations from works by the early madrigalwriters and others, interspersed with original compositions chiefly sketches or rough drafts by Pearsall, including anthems, a canon, a carol, a catch, duets, glees, a lamentation, madrigals, motets, part-songs, part of a service, and songs. The other composers whose works are given, in an original or adapted form, are John Bennet, Thomas Brewer, Michael Este, Festa, Geminiani, Himmel, W. Horsley, H. Isaak, Lasso, Morley, Paxton, Ravenscroft, L. Senfl, and R. J. S. Stevens. Among the unidentified sketches is one beginning "Herr, ich glaube" (?). f. 14. At the beginning of the volume are Pearsall's bookplate of arms, and a receipt from Thomas Oliphant, 30 June, 1839, for cost of engraving madrigals. Paper. A.D. 1835-1838, etc. Oblong folio.
