(? 3rd verse) "Then let not all-destroying time." f. 12; "Hence thoughts of bygone joy," 1837. f. 12 b; "From honesty and truth, my son." f. 13 ; "Grave-digger's song," beg. "Take, O spade, my greeting." f. 14; "When my nose in wine reflected." f. 14 b; "Plague take your new opinions" (translated from a 4 - part song by Lasso), and "Hence all unfeeling hearts." f. 15; "Bob Snailum." f. 16; "Far away, far away, o'er the mountains." f. 17 ; "Crux fidelis," beg. "Holy sign of our salvation." f. 18; "Christ is risen from the dead," and "Pange, lingua," beg. "Kneel before Him in His glory." f. 18 b; "O speak, ye judges of the earth." f. 19; "Ha[n]c fenestra[m] vitriavit" (for an inscription on a window designed, etc., by Philippa Pearsall, after 1849), and "The night was still." f. 20.
3. Letter dictated by Pearsall to his wife, and intended for the editor of The Parish Choir, 30 Nov. 1855, enclosing a comic canon on the words B.E.E.F and CA.B.B.A.G.E, by Cornelius Bryan, organist of St. Mary Redcliffe, Bristol. ff. 22, 24.
4. Paper on the opinion entertained of the Duke of Wellington in Flanders and elsewhere on the Continent; in Mrs. Pearsall's band. f. 25.
5. "Remarks on the origin of coronets [and titles]" ; in the same hand. f. 30.
6. Extracts from Coke's Institutes on various estates or degrees; watermark 1836. ff. 41 b, 43 b.
7. Papers on the origin and history of knighthood, partly in French and in the hand of Mrs. Pearsall. ff. 45, 48, 60, 64, 65, 67.
8. "Quelques remarques sur la date des voûtes souterraines dans le château inférieur de Bâde [Baden-Baden]," dedicated to the Grand Duke (see f. 71). The letter (dated 1835) on f. 70 appears to be from the Captain de Krieg named on ff. 84 b, 87. The article contains allusions to the instrument of torture known as the "Virgin," on which Pearsall read a paper before the Society of Antiquaries in 1837, and is followed (ff. 101- l09 b) by notes used in compiling that paper, and (f. 110) by another article on instruments of torture in general. ff. 69- 115 b.
9. Letter of F. von Geisler, Prussian Regierungsrath, to Pearsall, 1841, inclosing certain queries relating to the English gentry, with rough draft of Pearsall's replies, and of the latter's article (f. 124) in correction of one by Geisler in the Berliner Politisches Wochenblatt. ff. 116-131 b.
