LIVERPOOL PAPERS. Vol. CCCI (ff. 176). Royal letters supplementing Add. 38190, as follows: 1. George III to the 1st and 2nd Earls of Liverpool; 1779-1809. Down to 1805 holograph, afterwards (1807, 1809) in Sir Herbert Taylor's band, but signed by the King. A draft letter of the 2nd Earl to the King (1801) is included at f. 40. f. 1.
2. George IV to the 2nd Earl; 1820-1826, chiefly holograph but a few of the later ones in Sir William Knighton's hand, signed by the King. Prefixed (f. 95) is one (1815) from the Prince Regent to his mother, Queen Charlotte, mainly in Sir Benjamin Bloomfield's hand. Three letters of the 2nd Earl to the King (1821-1822) about the retirement of Sir Benjamin (Baron Bloomfield, 1825) are also included. f. 99.
3. William Henry, Duke of Clarence (afterwards William IV), to the 1st Earl ; 1796, 1799. Holograph. ff. 132, 134.
4. Memorial of Edward, Duke of Kent, to the Prince Regent, 1815, describing his debts and praying for an increased allowance ; with enclosures comparing his income with that of the Duke of Clarence, etc., and a letter in reply from the 2nd Earl. f. 136.
5. Frederick, Duke of York, to the 2nd Earl; 1806-1818, chiefly holograph. Also single letters (ff. 147, 149) to Spencer Perceval and to Mrs. Nugent [Charlotte, wife of Adm. Charles Edmund Nugent], 1812. Enclosures include letters from Gen. Banastre Tarleton to the Duke (f. 154), 1815, and from Dr. [Andrew] Bell to Sir H. Calvert, Adjutant-General (f. 162), 1816. There is also a draft of a reply by Lord Liverpool (1815, f. 158) to one of the Duke's letters. f. 146.
