LIVERPOOL PAPERS. Vol. CCCV (ff. 225). Correspondence, chiefly with the 2nd Earl, of (a) George Canning, cf. 38193; 1805- 1827. One letter of Canning (1823, f. 118) is addressed to C. R. Ellis and two (1822, 1826, ff. 116, 136) to the King, the last describing Canning's reception by Charles X at Paris. Among enclosures is a copy of a letter to Canning (1813, f. 39) from John Gladstone, Chairman of the West India Association at Liverpool. The series concludes with a letter (10 Feb. 1827, f. 142) of Canning's secretary and biographer Augustus Granville Stapleton on the state of Canning's health. This and two of Canning's letters (ff. 82, 135) are printed in Stapleton's Correspondence of G.
