Fr. At f. 80 is a printed pamphlet entitled "Lettre d'un officier de l'armée du roy, ecrite a un de ses amis a Londres, apres que l'armée se fut retirée d'Aberdeen vers le nord d'Escosse, au mois de février 1716. Traduite de l'anglois." This pamphlet, which accounts for the late arrival of the Pretender in Scotland in 1715, and his subsequent departure, is shown by Nairne's letter on f. 78 b to have been composed at the order of the Pretender.
