Vol. I (ff. 109). "A Century of Roundels"; the corrected MS. as sent to the printer. According to a cancelled note on f. 50b twenty of the roundels were written by 6 Feb. [1883], four more by the 9th, and three more by the 10th of the same month. The two roundels on "A Baby's Death, i, ii," have cancelled dates, respectively "Jan. 26, 1883" (f. 45) and "In bed, night of Jan. 26" (f. 46). Preceded (f. 1) by a roundel, headed "Sairey Gamp's Roundel," beg. "A baby's thumb, the little duck's," included in a fragment of a letter to [Miss Isabel Swinburne], beg. "My dearest Abba. The preceding burst of lyric song, in Sairey's very best handwriting, was compoged by that lady a day or two ago while dredging, and wrote down faithful before breakfast; which she do hope it may give satigefaction to Mrs. Harris-whose Eavenly dispogician is wellbeknown and her family circle." Dated : "The Pines, Feb. 19. 83." Printed in Posthumous Poems, 1917, p. 142. Paper. Octavo ; ff. 109. The roundels are written on halfsheets of notepaper, sometimes witli the printed heading: "The Pines, Putney Hill, S.W." Purple calf binding, gilt-tooled, inscribed : "I.S. from A.C.S."
