Material: Parchment.
Foliation: ff v + 265. f i is the paste-down on the inside front cover.
Dimensions: 260 x 205 mm.
Ruling: 160 x 120 mm, 19 lines per page.
Binding: Wooden boards, covered with black leather: 16th-17th cent.
Decoration: Decorated headpiece in red and black before Acts. Headings, subscriptions and the first few words of each paragraph in red.

Origin: Eastern Mediterranean. Completed in February 1009: colophon (f 265v).
Provenance:
Inscriptions on f 265v, probably dating to the 14th century, name John, Bishop of Ledda (possibly Lydda, i.e. Lod), and Symeon, Metropolitan of Caesarea.
Acquired by Robert Curzon from the Monastery of St Sabba, near Jerusalem, in 1834: inscription (f ii recto).

Add MSS 39583-39671, along with Oriental MSS 8729-8855, were bequeathed to the British Museum by Darea Curzon, Baroness Zouche (d. 1917), having been part of the collection formed at Parham, Co. Sussex, by the Hon. Robert Curzon, afterwards 14th Baron Zouche, as the result of his travels in the Levant, etc., in 1833 and later. A copy of Robert Curzon's Catalogue of Materials for Writing, ... Rolls and other Manuscripts and Oriental Manuscript Books (1849), with manuscript additions, accompanied the gift, and is now Add MS 64098.
