canon law (ff. 604 b, 605, the latter in plummet), and a medical recipe (f. 605 b), all in Latin. Vellum; ff. ii + 605. 5 3/4 in. x 3 3/4 in. Mid XIII cent. Gatherings of 24 (occasionally 26) leaves. Double columns of 49 or (ff. 1-5 b) 50 lines. Probably written in France. Neatly illuminated initials, usually with slight prolongations (some of these cropped in binding), to the prefatory epistle and the several books and Psalter-divisions, five of them (ff. 1, 4, 241, 268, 447 b) historiated. Flourished initials in blue and red to prologues and chapters. Sec. fol. " sic enim." Old press-mark " A-I." on f. ii, and erased and cropped inscriptions (of ownership ?) on ff. ii b, 1. On f. i, " Domine miserere animam Roberti Curzon de Parham in comitatu Sussex. 1830." Bound in crimson velvet, with gilt clasps and rims, and with the Curzon arms (argent, on a bend sable three popinjays or) and motto ("Let Curzon holde what Curzon helde") in gilt metal on the upper cover. Curzon Cat., MSS. in Latin, no. 6.
