PARHAM MS. LXVII. SALLUST, the Coniuratio Catilinae and (f. 31) Bellum Iugurthinum, written by an extremely unintelligent scribe. Some relation with Harley MS. 2675 seems indicated by the incorporation after Catiline of the note beg. " Autor iste promisit improlago " (Harl. 2675, f. 15 b: " Auctor iste premisit in prologo"). " Et optima " is read in Catiline 5.9 as usual in late MSS. (see A. W. Ahlberg, Prolegomena in Sallustium, 1911, p. 87). Vellum; ff. i + 92. 8 1/2 in. x 5¾ in. Late XV cent. Gatherings of 10
leaves (iii11, vii8, x 3), with catchwords ; 24 lines to the page. Sec. fol. "cribere." Gold initials at the beginning of each work with the usual Italian white vine-tendril design, continued on f. 1 to make a partial border. The space within the wreath for arms is filled in by a sketched device of three daggers conjoined in point at base between two letters F. Other marks of ownership are on f. 92, " Sebastiani Fabronij amicorumque," on f. 1 an armorial stamp " Bibliothecae Pagni " (as in Add. MS. 11950), and on f. i the Curzon motto. Curzon Cat., MSS. in Latin, no. 11.
