PARHAM MS. LXXXII. " FABLES du Labirinte de Versailles " : a frontispiece, 38 pictures, and a tail-piece, each cut out from a single sheet of white paper and laid down on a black background, illustrating 38 out of the 39 Fables of Æsop represented on the fountains of the Labyrinth at Versailles, erected in 1667-1674 and destroyed in 1775. See E. Cazes, Le Château de Versailles, 1910, p. 603. The series has no apparent connexion with the engravings of S. Le Clerc in the volume Labyrinte de Versailles, Paris, 1677, or with those in later issues of the wor ; the illustrations are in a different order, and sometimes show the reverse sides of the sculptures (compare, e.g., f. 37 with p. 75 of the 1677 ed.). The fable omitted is no. xxvi. Paper; ff. 40. XVIII cent. (before 1775 ?). Quarto. Morocco binding, tooled, with the arms (Curzon impaling Wilmot-Horton) of [Robert Curzon, 14th Baron] Zouche (d. 1873). Not in Curzon Cat. .
