The dates are 11 Apr., 27 Apr., 6 May, 7 June and 8 June (both copies), 20 June, 1 July (enclosing a copy of Hayley's letter to Lord Chancellor Thurlow with a view to a pension for Cowper), 30 Sept., 16 Dec. Followed (f. 52) by a letter from Rome, in French, headed Lettre XCII, on artistic subjects. Cf. Add. MS. 38887 for Hayley's relations with Cowper. Morrison sale, lot 483. ff. 32-51.

-(b) The same to the Comte d'Albaret, " grand lecteur " of the burlesque order of Lanturelus, of which the marquise was " grande maitresse," containing much information about the society's proceedings and other social news ; 26 letters [1774]-[1786].
