From the printed Catalogue of Additions (1933), pp. 217-18:
'Vol. II. Draft of the will of Sir John Fastolf, dated 3 Nov. 1459. The hand is that of the corrected and substituted portions of the draft in Add. MS. 27444, ff. 60-67 b, printed in full in Gairdner (no. 385 of Library Edition, 382 of small edition) under the heading " second draft," and the present copy agrees substantially and almost verbatim with the latter; it supplies most of the lacunae left by Gairdner, and contains five clauses at the end that are wanting in Add. MS. 27444, but of which the first, third, and fifth are found in Add. MS. 22927 (Gairdner, Library Edition, no. 386, small edition no. 333). The fourth clause, cancelling all previous wills, etc., differs in this respect front the clause in Add. MS. 22927 relating to a will made on 13 June 1459. Vellum; 2 membranes.
Belonged, in the 18th century, to the Rev. Francis Blomefield, William Oldys (?, see printed note, 39848, f. 70 b), John Ives (sale-cat., Baker and Leigh, 5 Mar. 1777, lot 503), Richard Gough (sale-cat., Leigh and Sotheby, 5 April 1810, lot 4241), afterwards to John Scott, bookseller, Joseph Haslewood (note, 39848, f. ii; sale-cat., Evans, 16-24 Dec. 1833, lot 1317), Thomas Thorpe, bookseller (Thorpe's cat., 1836, p. 292, no. 954), and Sir Thomas Phillipps, Phillipps MS. 9735 (sale-cat., 1919, lot 671).
