"Librorum impressorum, quos Wympoliæ, in agro Cantabrigiensi, tenet vir illustrissimus Edwardus Dominus de Harley, Catalogus brevior." This catalogue, consisting of 7040 articles, arranged numerically, wth the press and shelf marks, was completed the 14th June 1717, by the learned and industrious librarian Humphrey Wanley. As there is no index to that which was afterwards published by Osborne the bookseller, who purchased the noble collection of printed books made by Lord Oxford, Mr. Wanley's index to the present volume may be of use to bibliographers; and his critical account of English Bibles will be found extremely curious and interesting. Mr. Lewis, in his History of the English Translations of the Bible, had certainly made use of this catalogue, although he has not expressly quoted it.
