Fair copy, with pencil notes in Lord Townshend's hand on ff. 30b, 32b, 43b. An introduction (ff. 1-3b) is followed by sections on 'the general Face of the country' (ff. 3b-13), 'the Principal Rivers in the South' (ff. 13b-17), 'the nature of the Roads' (ff. 17-18), and the 'Principal Towns, Harbours, and Forts in the South' (ff. 18b-43). Lacks the section on 'the movement of an Army in Ireland' and the accompanying sketch map, noted in the introduction at ff. 2b-3.
