Begun as Hill Song no. 1 (ff. 1, 2, 4) '16.3.1901' 'Ended 20.8.1907' (f. 17), i.e. 'Reworked from Hillsong No 1 in 1907, London and Svinkl´v' (f. 18). Published in several arrangements. The present MS. is the ink full score of '1st scoring'; signed and dated at end 'Svinkl´v 20.8.1907' and corrected in green ink '4.5.[19]11. London' (f. 17). Dedicated 'For Balfour Gardiner' (f. 3). Followed (ff. 18-21) by notes, partly typewritten, on Hill Songs and MSS.; aft. 1921, n.d.
Bound in blue limp buckram, lettered Hill-Song No. 1 in gold and subsequently altered in ink.
