CHURCH HOUSE MANUSCRIPTS. Vol. III. 'A Collection of Psalm-Tunes, selected from several eminent Authors, [including Christopher Gibbons, William Boyce, Henry Purcell and William Croft] by John Greenwood' (b. 1795, d. 1837), organist successively of Leeds Parish Church and South Parade Methodist Chapel, Halifax; circa 1821-1837. Contains mostly fair copies of anthems and canticles for four voices in open score. Differs both from the compiler's A Selection of Antient and Modern Psalm Tunes, Chants and Responses, [1825?] and Greenwood's Psalmody, 1838. Also includes:- (a) 'A Hymn for Sunday Schools by Dr [Edward] Miller' (f. 50b), for choruses and soloists, beg. 'Praise the Lord all ye that fear him'. ff. 50b-52;- (b) A version of Psalm 100, beg. 'Before Jehovah's awful Throne'. Attribution on f. 87b, 'The Words by the Revd. Mr. Wesley. The Music by Sign[ore Giuseppe?] Giordinia [Giordani?]'. The fourth stanza of the original version by Isaac Watts, 1719, is added at the foot of
