MARTIN PAPERS. Vol. IX. Correspondence of Samuel Martin, junior, mainly with English statesmen and other public figures; 1734(?)- 26 Aug. 1784. Among the correspondents are Thomas Pelham-Holles, 1st Duke of Newcastle, and John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute. On f. 66 is a copy of a receipt from George III to Martin, for £25,000 issued at the Exchequer on 9 Dec. 1762 'for our special service', dated 10 Dec. 1762.
