L. 'Verses made 1642 by N.N.': a Royalist poem in seven monorhymed quatrains with refrain 'Is the new order of the land/And the land's new order'. Beg. 'To make Charles a great king and give him no power'. Allusion is made to the impeachment, early in 1642, of Lord Digby and Sir Edward Dering. Copies, without the title, occur in Harley MSS. 2127 f. 19 and 6918 f. 36, of which the latter shows slight verbal differences, but the former departs widely from the present text. f. 50.
