(3) The Conselho Ultramarino to the King (John IV), reporting on a letter from the Viceroy of India (João da Silva Tello de Menezes, Conde de Aveiras) concerning the danger to Ceylon from the Dutch, and enclosing (ff. 71-71 b) sailing instructions for the direct route to that island; Lisbon, 5 Oct. 1644.
