B. Letter from Rupert [Chawner] Brooke to Harriet Monroe, editor of Poetry,: A Magazine of Verse (Chicago), enclosing (ff. 4-6) the typescript of his five war sonnets; Blandford, 26 Jan. 1915. The first, fourth and fifth were duly published op. cit., vi, Apr. 1915, pp. 18, 19, and all were printed in the last issue of New Numbers. The letter is partly quoted in Harriet Monroe, A Poet's Life, 1938, P. 345. ff. 2-7. Presented by Arthur Davison Ficke, whose covering letter (f. 7) is included.
