Maurice Goldsmith's receipt for the legacy, dat. 24 Feb. 1770, is written on f. 21b. Published in Bishop Percy's 'Life of Goldsmith', prefixed to The Miscellaneous Works of Oliver Goldsmith, i, 1801, pp. 86-89, and reprinted from the present MS. by Katharine C. Balderston, The Collected Letters of Oliver Goldsmith, 1928, pp. 83-87. Other Goldsmith material, once in Percy's possession, is in Add. MSS. 42515-42517. ff. 20, 21.
