The Gospels in Syriac, also known as the Curetonian Gospels. The current manuscript contains only the end of the Gospel of Mark, as well as more complete versions of all other Gospels. The content of the text appears to be a particularly archaic recension.
ff. 1v-38v : The Gospel of Matthew, entitled ܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ ܕܡܦܪܫܐ ܡܬܝ. Chapters VIII.23 to X.31 appear to be more modern additions, while chapters XXIII.25 to the end are deficient.
f. 39r : Gospel of Mark, Chapter XVI.17-20.
ff. 39r-52v : The Gospel of John, which is missing Chapters I.42-III.5; VII.38-XIV.10. XIV.12-15, XIV.19-21, XIV.23-26, and XIV.29 to the end.
ff. 53r-88r : The Gospel of Luke, which is missing Chapters I.1-II.48, III.16-VII.33, and XV.22-XVII.23, with a more modern (Peshitta) recension from XXIV.44 to the end.
The manuscript has been amended at several points in order to bring it in line with later recensions, and there are also occasional marginal notations indicating calendrical information for readings.
A tenth-century note on f. 1r states that the manuscript was formerly the property of the Monk Ḥabíb, who brought the book to the Monastery of Bayt Yaldāt Alāhā in the city of Saqíṭā.
A note following the Gospel of Luke on f. 88r states that the manuscript was repaired at the same monastery in the year 1533 AG (1222 CE).
The script is Estrangelā of the latter half of the fifth century, notable for its lack of diacritics and vocalization, as well as its sparse punctuation.
The vellum of the manuscript has been stained by water or ink in numerous occasions, and several of the folios are fragmentary.
