RETURN, made soon after 11 Chas. I. [1635], of debts due to the Court of Wards and Liveries, including arrears as far back as temp. Hen. VIII. The return consists of a series arranged under counties (ff. 4-129), and a series arranged under the headings "Arreragies of rentes for wardes landes dependinge in Super unpayed" f. 130), "Fynes for wards dependinge in Super unpayed" (f. 132 b), and Fines for liveries and leases and "Arreragies" for rates of full age (ff. 142, 145, 147 b). At the end are notes of some grants inade out of these debts, and remarks on their value. f. 172. Paper ; ff. 172. Belonged to Peter Le Neve, Norroy, who notes that "all of Norf. and Suff. are posted," and lot 271 at his sale in Feb. 173 0/1 (pencil-note, f. 2); afterwards belonged to Tho. Martin [of Palgrave].
