PAMPHLET Written, on Charles II.'s suggestion, by James Butler., 1st Duke of Ormonde, but never printed, in answer to the Earl of Anglesey's Letter from a person of Honour. . . .. to the Earl of Castlehaven . . . . upon his Lordship's Memoires concerning the Wars of Ireland, London, 1681. Written by an amanuensis. With autograph corrections and additions. Carte (Life of Ormond, vol. iv. p. 634) says he has read the pamphlet in MS., but does not say where. Paper; ff. 84. Phillipps MS. 8573. This and the two following MSS. probably formed part of the Southwell Collection. See below, 34,773 and foll. Folio.
