DRAMATIC POEMS on Biblical subjects, by - Boise, viz.: (1) "Pharaoh's Tyrannie," f. 2;-(2) "The Story of Jephthah," f 29b;-(3) "The History of Samson," f. 40;-(4) "David and Goliah," f. 62 b;-(5) "The History of Jonah," f 70;-(6) "The History of John Baptist," f. 81;-(7) "Nebuchadnezzar's Fiery Furnace," f. 95 b. Concluding with "A Hymne of the Justice and Mercy of God," f. 116 b. All, except the last, are in heroic couplets. A note on f. 1 states that "this was compos'd by . . . Boise a Scotchman about the time of the Reformation. He was counted in those times a learned Man. He left an Estate conditionall that they shou'd see this book printed, which not being perform'd a Law Suit is; commencing to recover the Same, 1713." The poems do not appear to have been printed. Paper; ff. 116. XVIIth cent. Formerly No. 13,190 in Sir T. Phillipps' library, in the catalogue of which it if; numbered 156 among the St. George and Owen MSS. Folio.
