Vincent,, Lupus and Giles, and Denis (22 Jan., 1 Sept., 9 Oct.) in gold. f. 3;-(2) Lessons from the four Evangelists. f. 9;-(3) "Obsecro te" and "O intemerata." f 13 b;-(4) "Passio domini nostri ihesu christi secundum iohannem." f. 17 b;-(5) Hours of the Virgin. ff. 27, 45;-(6, 7) Matins of the Cross and of the Holy Ghost, between Lauds and Prime of the Virgin. ff. 42, 44;-(8) Penitential Psalms, with Litany. f. 83;-(9) Vigils of the Dead. f. 97;-(10) Memorials of Saints, including SS. Roch, Claude [Arhbishop of Besançon, patron of St. Claude in the Jura], and Geneviève. f. 127. Vellum; ff. 137. Early XVIth cent. Executed in France. Fullpage miniatures at the beginning of each office, and small miniatures at the chief divisions. Illuminated borders and initials throughout. A full-page miniature at f. 96 b represents a man and his wife and eight children (? the patron and his family). The Calendar has miniatures of the signs of the zodiac and appropriate pursuits for each month. Book-plate and signature of Eugène Paillet, counsellor in the Cour d'appel de Paris (see H. Beraldi, Bibliothèque d'un Bibliophile, Lille, 1885, pp. ix., 2). The binding, of purple velvet, said to be by Bauzonnet, and the volume to have belonged to Ch. Brunet (Beraldi, p. 2). 7 ¾ X 4 ½ in.
