The nine-lesson feasts include John of Beverley (7 May), Oswald (5 Aug.), Hilda (25 Aug.) and Edmund of Canter. bury (1 6 Nov.). The translation [in 1283] of St. William is entered on 9 Jan., but seems to be an insertion. Obits of priors and benefactors of Guisbrough have been entered, apparently circ. 1400, in parallel columns. The priors include " W[illelmi] primi prioris," 3 Aug.;-" Radulfi [de Ireton] episcopi Kar[leolensis], prioris," prid. kal. Mar. [1292];-" Johannis Horworth, prioris," 9 June [resigned 1393, see Guisbrough Chartulary, Surtees Soc., ii., 1894, p. xliii.];-and "Walteri de Thorp, quondam prioris," 9 Mar. [Horworth's successor, ib.]. Among the benefactors are "Roberti de Brus, fundatoris," 11 May, [1141], "Agnetis uxoris fundatoris," 18 Nov., "Johannis de Fauconberg," 17 Sept., and many other members of the Bruce and Falconbridge families, besides others whose names are given in the index. A similar, but not identical, list of benefactors' obits, extracted by Robert Glover (ob. 1588) "from a Calendar belonging to the Priory of Gisburne," was printed in Coll. Top. et Gen., lv. p. 261. At 16 May is the entry "Incendium ecclesie nostre anno domini MoCCo lxxxoixo xvijo kal. iunij prima die Rogationum," and at 19 May "Incendium lxix domorum fumalium in Gyseburne anno domini Mo CCCCo xiijmo (see Guisbrough Chartulary, ii. p. 353). f. 168.
5. Covenants between Guisbrough and other religious houses, for the interchange of spiritual benefits. f. 174. Followed by a later note on the chronology of the Bible, ending "et a natiuitate Christi transacti sunt anni M.CCC.xx.ij " (f. 175) and (in a 15th cent. band) eight rhyming hexameters, invoking by name the eight archangels, beg. "Letificans Michael nos noxas destrue diras (f. 175 b).

11. "Suffragia Sanctorum," followed by other prayers, and by the salutations of the Five Wounds. A 14th cent. addition, imperfect at beginning. f. 339.
12. Processionale, with music; preceded by a Tonale in a later hand. f. 342. At the beginning, (f. 1) is a leaf from F. Grose's Antiquities, iv. (1776), containing an engraving and description of Guisbrough Priory. Vellum (except f. 1); ff. 347. XIIIth cent. (after 1246, see art. 3), with additions xiv.-xvth centt. Initials in red and blue, more rarely gold and other colours. Many of the margins have been cut away, slightly mutilating the text.
