HARDWICKE PAPERS. Vol. CCCCLXXII. Two treatises on Trial by Combat, viz. (1) "The waye of Duells before the Kinge" (for another, but imperfect, copy v. Lansd. MS. 211, f. 61, where it is, probably erroneously, attributed to John Selden). f. 2;-and (2) "Particulars to be taken into consideration concearning the trialls of Appeales in case of Treason before the Conestable and Marshal by joyning Bataile." f. 8. Peter Le Neve (ob. 1729) has added notes stating that art. 1 is in the handwriting of Sir Kenelm Digby (ob. 1665) and art. 2 in that of Sir John Borough (Garter, ob. 1643). The first statement is erroneous, but the other is apparently correct. Paper; ff. 10. XVIIth cent. Bought by Nicholas Hardinge at P. Le Neve's sale in 1730. Folio.
