HARDWICKE PAPERS. Vol. DIV. Political documents, 1671- 1688, viz.:-
1. Translation of letters from Johan Boreel, Dutch ambassador in London, to the Greffier Gasper Fagel; 14/24 Jan. 167 0/1 18/28 Nov. 1671. Probably made for Philip Yorke, 2nd Earl of Hardwicke, whose notes occur in the margin. Imperfect at the end. f. 1.
2. Thirty-four original letters of Sir William Temple, British Ambassador at Brussels and afterwards at the Hague, to Henry Bennet, Earl of Arlington, Secretary of State and afterwards Lord Chamberlain, with one letter to the King; 13/23 Apr. 1668- 1/11 Feb. 1671. Probably from the collections of Henry Capel, Lord Capel of Tewkesbury (v. Add. 35,865, f. 249). Five to Arlington and the one to the King are printed in Temple's Works (ed. 1814), vols. i. and iv. f. 97.
3. "Extracts of the Diary of Henry [Hyde, 2nd] Earl of Clarendon, a manuscript of 168 pages in folio, beginning Jan. 1st, 168 7/8, and ending 31 Dec. 1688." The diary is printed in S. W. Singer's Clarendon Correspondence, 1828, vol. ii. p. 153. For the original v. Stowe MS. 770 (cf. Add. 22,578). f. 167. Paper; ff. 228. Folio.
