1. "Sir John Dauies, Serjeant at Lawe, vnto his Majestic vppon Impositions"; by Sir John Davies, the poet, Attorney-general for Ireland 1606-1619. Printed posthumously (London, 1656) as The Question concerning Impositions. f. 1.
2. "The Question whether the King without Assent of Parliament may sett Impositions vppon the wares and goods of merchants," etc., with a "Remonstrance deliuered to his Majestie" prefixed. For another copy see Lansd. MS. 253, f. 255. First printed (London, 1641) as A learned and necessary Argument, etc. By a late learned Judge of this Kingdome, i.e. James Whitelocke, afterwards Sir James, Justice of the King's Bench (cf. also Cobbett's State Trials, 1809, vol. ii. col. 477). f. 101.
