HARDWICKE PAPERS. Vol. CCLVIII. Two treatises on the Court of Chancery, viz.:-
1. "A learned Treatise concerning the high and honorable Court of Chancery, with an excellent discription of every particular office and officers duty in theire severall places belonging therevnto, Written by the Right woorthy Sir Robert Cotton, Knight, devided into two partes": the treatise by Sir Robert Cotton, of which other copies are in Harl. MS. 1716, Stowe MS. 415, f. 219. The present copy contains an additional chapter at the end, which is not in those MSS., but occurs (with much more) in Harl. MS. 736. f. 2.
2. "Breviatts out of the Records in the Tower concerninge th' authority of the Chancery, with direccion to finde th' originalls." The name of the compiler [possibly Cotton?] is not given. Another copy is in Hargr. MS. 240, f. 100, and extracts are in Hargr. MS. 219, f. 37 b. Beg. "W. Marshall unus octo clericorum." f. 48. Paper; ff. 162. XVIth cent. Belonged to Serjeant William Salkeld (ob. 1715). 12 ¼ X 8 in.
