FRANCIS PAPERS. Vol. IX (ff. i + 368). Miscellaneous papers, 1764-1894, mainly relating to the identity of the writer of the letters of "Junius." Among them. are various letters and papers of Lady Francis and other members of the Francis family. On f. 1 are papers relating to an action for bribery between Henry FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton, and Samuel Vaughan, a Jamaica merchant. On f. 285 are copies of verses written in the hand of Sir Philip Francis, among them (f. 285) the lines sent to Miss Mary Giles, addressed to "Belinda," at Bath, 1771; cf. H. R. Francis, "Junius" Revealed, pp. 3-7, with facsimile. On f. 304 are newspaper cuttings relating mainly to Junius, 1762-1851.
