D 1-3. Three paper sheets, forming part of a map of the expedition to Lake Bangweolo under Joseph Thomson on behalf of the British South Africa Company, [1890-1891]. The first sheet shows the route from Chiloma (12 July 1890) to Blantyre; the second and third, from Kota-Kota on Lake Nyassa (left 23 Aug.) westwards towards Lake Bangweolo and back to Kota-Kota (4 Jan. 1891). The portion of the route west of longitude 29° 30' and north of latitude 12° 30' was perhaps continued on other sheets now missing. For an account and printed map of the expedition see Geographical Journal, i, 1893, pp. 97 sqq., and map opposite p. 192. Each sheet measures 10½ in. x 16½ in.
