FRANCISCI Petrarchæ Epistolarum de rebus familiaribus Libri Octo. Prefixed is an epistle, "De administracione regni," which in the printed editions is included among the Epistolœ Variœ, under the heading of "Fran. Petrarcha Nicolao Florensio, Regis Siciliae Senescallo." [See Francisci Petrarchœ . . Opera, Basle, 1581, p. 1015.] This epistle is followed by that beginning, "Qvid uero nunc agimus frater ?" etc., usually printed as the Praefatio to the Epistolœ familiares. The last book ends with an epistle headed, "Franciscus Petrarcha Socrati suo," containing an account of the plague, and ending with the words, "O si prius expergisci datum sit," which occur in the middle of the last epistle but one, according to the printed editions. At the end is the inscription, "Finis Deo gratias: Amen: xviijo Augto 15 Ind[ictionis]. Aquauiua." Vellum; XVIth cent.; with illuminated initials and border round f. 1, containing the arms of Acquaviva, surmounted by a coronet. Folio.
