Moral Maxims of Guy du Faur, Seigneur de Pibrac [b. 1529, d. 1584], of which fifty quatrains were published in 1574, and the remaining seventy-six added at various times; copied by Esther Inglis, with the following dedication: "To the right godlie, learned, and my mvch respected Freind, M. Walter Balcanqvall, Bacheler in Divinitie [Dean of Durham 1639, d. 1645]. Esther Inglis wisheth all increase of trve hapinesse. Ivnii 23. 1617." For some account of Esther Inglis [or Langlois], b. in France, 1571, m. a Scotch minister, Bartholomew Kello of Edinburgh, and d. 1624, and a list of the specimens of her caligraphy in the British Museum and elsewhere, the Proceedings of the Soc. of Antiquaries of London.
